    This summer I will travel to the island of Hvar using the Drvenik port.

    My question is: is there a timetable for the summer and how can I book in advance for this ferry as we are only a couple of days on this island.

    it is not possible to book in advance local ferry lines.
    however, it is very unlikely you will have trouble getting a place on the ferry.

    One more question left for me:

    I will travel by car. I read that it is possible to bring the car on board. Do I have to inform the ferry line for that in advance?

    This is a car ferry and most of the people actually take car or other vehicles on board.

    No you do not have to inform ferry company in advance.

    Once you arrive in Drvenik, you will go to little kiosk there where they sell tickets.

    They will ask you which car you have and how many passengers are travelling.

    You will then get your tickets and wait in the queue to embark on board.

    I would advise you to arrive bit earlier (30 minutes before departure) to get to the queue with your car.
