Susak Island Ferries

Island of Susak
An island in Kvarner archipelago, Susak is a living museum of ancient customs, costumes and dialect. Owing to its isolated position, the island has also preserved the autochtonous one-room dwellings of dry stone walls, a design handed down from prehistoric times. The only settlement on the island also called Susak, with its houses closely packed together, features a lovely sandy beach and several mementoes of the past that survived: the remains of the 11th-century Benedictine monastery, traces of Romanesque castle and the parish church. The island well connected by ferries and is a popular visitors destination from Rijeka, Pula and Mali Losinj.
