Booking Croatia Ferries

All international ferry crossings that connect Croatia with other countries can be booked in advance online, while you cannot book in advance majority of local ferries.

Advance Ferry Booking:

If you are bringing a car onto a ferry, it is advisable to book in advance for international as well as local ferries. Space for cars on ferries is limited while there is plenty of space for foot passengers. If your ferry journey lasts for longer or overnight , even as a foot passenger you may like to have a pre –booked seat or cabin. Some ferry companies do not allow foot passengers without booked seat to travel on overnight routes (check with specific ferry route). Please note – while booking online, you may notice that some of the ferries are not available – the reason for that is the specific timetables/scehdules are not yet released by the ferry operator, so you would need to come again and check later.

Advance bookings for international ferries to Croatia:

If you wish, you can  use booking engine on the left to book any of listed ferries that connect Croatia with other countries.

Advance bookings for local ferries in Croatia:

For time being it is only possible to book ferry tickets online in advance  for ferry route 101 that run from Rijeka to Dubrovnik with stopover in Split, Stari Grad (Hvar Island), Korcula and Sobra (Mljet Island). Please use booking engine on the left to book any of these ferries. For specific timetable, check detailed listing on our timetables/schedules pages.

For all other domestic ferries it is not possible to book ferry tickets in advance online. Most of these ferries you can book few days (or even hours) in advance from local travel agencies in larger places along Croatian Coast.

Ferry checking-in times:

How early do you need to get to the port before departure depends of specific ferry company and  ferry port. As a guideline with most operators you need to arrive about  40 minutes prior to departure.  Also note  – if you arrive at the port too early you cannot go aboard the ferry until boarding starts.

Ferry check in documents:

For all international ferries every passenger must have a valid passport to board the ferry. For local (domestic) ferry crossing valid ferry ticket is the only document that is requested to travel. However in Croatia,  you are obliged by the law to carry your ID documents with you at all times.
