Me and 3 other girls are traveling around Croatia in mid-July this year.

We are wondering what the best route is to get around Hvar, Vis, and Brač starting from Split.

To do this via ferry would you recommend booking the journeys in advance?

    Many thanks

See all ferry routes from Split to Hvar, Vis and Brac here:

It is definitely recommended to book ferries in advance for July travel.

Direct ferry from Hvar to Vis in August?

Is there a ferry/cat in August that will take us directly from Hvar to Vis island? Or do we have to go back to Split? Is it an option to go direct from Brac to Hvar and then from Hvar to Vis and Korcula? Trying to make our way back to Dubrovnik and the airport for the return flight, without coming the way we came via bus from Dubrovnik to Split then Brac.

Wanted to go from Split to Hvar https://www.croatiaferries.com/split-hvar-ferry.htm and then via islands/water/ferry back from Hvar, Vis, Brac, to Dubrovnik. Thanks in advance for any input and suggestions.

Lana, at the present there is a direct ferry/catamaran from Hvar to Vis going just once a week https://www.croatiaferries.com/hvar-vis-ferry.htm

However, pretty soon, in a few days time, there will be an additional ferry crossing introduced to cover this route. So, yes, you will be able to travel directly from Hvar to Vis in August.

Regarding your further travels to other islands and Dubrovnik, if you carefully analyze ferry schedules, you will notice that you can travel to all mentioned islands on your way to Dubrovnik without getting back to Split.

This especially applies if you are just a foot passenger. If you intend to travel by car, then it may be that for Vis island you have to get back to Split. I am under the impression you are traveling without a car.
