I would like to know if there is still a car ferry from Orebic to Korcula Island.

I would like to travel in Late July. Thank you. Susan

We want to go in March from Orebic to Korcula and we would like to know if there is another company apart from Jadrolinija that makes these trips for passengers and the timetable.

We´ve heard that there is a boat that drops passengers off near Hotel Korcula, is it working in that period?

Thanks very much and best regards,  Maria

Maria, yes, there are two ferries, one for cars and passengers and another one for passengers only. The one that comes in front of Hotel Korcula is a foot passenger only. You can find all details here: https://www.croatiaferries.com/orebic-korcula-ferry.htm

Anyone can point me to how I find how much it costs to take a car from Orebic to Korcula for a minivan and 5 people?

We are planning to drive from Split to Dubrovnik in May of this year.

We were considering visiting Korcula Town for part of the day but I am wondering if it might be too much trouble with the car ferry crossing.

Is it necessary to be there an hour or two earlier than departure for the cars to board? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=La5IzdDLLyI

Or only 30 min early since there seems to be a ferry every hour from Orebic to Korcula?

Is it better to just go on foot since we will not be staying the night there?

Hi Paul, welcome to our forum 🙂

re: Is it necessary to be there an hour or two earlier than departure for the cars to board? Or only 30 min early since there seems to be a ferry every hour from Orebic to Korcula?

No, it is not necessary to come so early for the embarkation on the ferry by car, especially not in May. You can come a few minutes before, it just depends on how many cars are already in the waiting line. This is a local commuter ferry, so people cross to/from Orebic to Korcula often, it is a very relaxing atmosphere. If you miss the particular departure, you can have a drink, pizza, or ice cream in Orebic, just across the ferry dock, and wait for the next crossing.

re: Is it better to just go on foot since we will not be staying the night there?

Just going on foot may be a good option. That way you will avoid looking for parking in Korcula Town (leave your car in a parking place in Orebic)  and the foot passenger ferry arrives in a more convenient location for sightseeing than the car ferry.

We are currently planning our trip and would like to book the car ferry between Orebić and Korčula. However, we noticed that for the dates we require — 29.09. (Orebić to Korčula) and 07.10. (Korčula to Orebić) — there are currently no available options for booking on the platform (https://www2.jadrolinija.hr/Voyager2Web/).

Could you kindly let us know if bookings for these dates will become available at a later time, or if there is another reason why reservations are not possible yet?

We would appreciate any information you can provide so that we can finalize our travel plans.

Thank you very much for your support.
    Best regards,
    Matthias

    Matthias,

Yes, bookings for these dates will become available at a later time, usually about 3 months in advance, depending on the season.

Just leave it for a few months, and check again later

Also, this ferry crossing is first-come, first-served, so no need to buy your ticket in advance if you don’t wish to.

You can buy your ticket once you arrive at the port.

Place your car in the waiting line and go to buy a ticket from the Jadrolinija kiosk, which is about  1-minute walk.

    I hope this helps
