Hi, my fiancee and I are doing our honeymoon in Croatia at the end of May. Currently, we have a place in Hvar on Thursday 5/31 but want to get there from Dubrovnik earlier than 19:35 shown on the schedule for May. With it being so close to June where there another Ferry service is offered in the morning, I wanted to know if there is away to get there on Thursday morning or afternoon to give a full day in Hvar since we are leaving the next day?

So in short, is there a way to get from Dubrovnik to Hvar earlier in the day to give us more time in Hvar than 19:35?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Jordan,

Hvar Island is connected to the Croatian mainland by a daily car and passenger ferry that runs between Sucuraj on Hvar Island and Drvenik, on the mainland.

If you rent a car with a pick-up option in Dubrovnik and drop-off in Hvar, the whole journey will take about 4 hrs.

If you don’t have a car, you can use Uber or use one of the public buses which pass through Drvenik on the way to Split from Dubrovnik.

You can take this journey all year around.

Hi! I am travelling to Croatia in Late July, and I would like to book in advance the ferry Hvar-Dubrovnik. However, I could not find in the company site (jadrolinija.hr) the earlier travel (08:55). Does anyone knows if it still exists and by which company? Thanks 🙂

Gabriela, search in the yellow search box and you will find at least 3 daily ferry crossings

Carry-on luggage is allowed on a fast catamaran?

Is carry-on luggage permitted on the fast catamaran from Dubrovnik to Hvar and back?

If not, do we have to register it when booking the ticket?

How is luggage carried on board the ferry?

Fiona, there is a limit of 20 or 25 kg per person, depending on the specific ferry company.

For anything above, you are supposed to buy an additional luggage ticket (additional fee).

I’ve never seen it enforced but to be honest, if your luggage is very heavy and you are not able to carry it on the catamaran, then you will most probably be charged an additional fee.

But, as long as you are able to carry your own luggage onto the ferry/catamaran you should be fine.

This is how it looks re carrying luggage on board the ferry/ catamaran (carry-on luggage).

This photo was taken in Dubrovnik port, while boarding the ferry to Hvar:
