My question is to find out if we can travel from Venezia to Montenegro by ferry or passenger ship:

We are planning to visit Montenegro next summer. There will be 3 of us traveling together.
I am looking into flights to Venice (Venezia) and considering to travel further south along the coast to Montenegro, probably Kotor, Budva, Sveti Stefan. Is it possible to come to Monetengro by ferry or any kind of passenger ship from Venezia (Venice)?
If there is no direct ferry connection, is there alternative options? train or bus?
We would prefer to avoid flying to Dubrovnik or Montenegro but instead, to spend some time using ferries to reach Montenegro. After all, it is summer, so why not?

There are no ferries from Venice to Montenegro.
As far as I know, the only ferry from Italy to Montenegro used to be ferry Bari to Bar, but that ferry line doesn’t run anymore.
Ferries from Venezia ( Venice) sail to Istria in Croatia, which is further north of Montenegro so it may not be the best solution

Yes, it is possible, but not by direct ferry connection or by ferry/passenger ship exclusively.

Re: If there is no direct ferry connection, are there alternative options? train or bus?

Yes, there are alternatives – you will go by several ferries and a couple of buses. There are no train connections.

    Here is your best option:

    1. flight to Venice
    2. ferry to Pula (Venice – Pula) https://www.croatiaferries.com/venice-pula-ferry.htm
    3. ferry to Zadar (Pula – Zadar) https://www.croatiaferries.com/pula-zadar-ferry.htm
    4. bus to Split
    5. ferry to Dubrovnik (Split – Dubrovnik: https://www.croatiaferries.com/split-dubrovnik-ferry.htm
    6. bus to Kotor (or Budva) or pretty soon Dubrovnik to Budva ferry:  https://www.croatiaferries.com/dubrovnik-budvamontenegro-ferry.htm

As it is 3 of you traveling together, if you wish, you can consider taking a taxi or private transfer for some of these legs of journeys …

Here is a map for part of your journey (Pula – Dubrovnik ) ->> map

This can be a very nice trip, with some amazing views of Adriatic sea (as in this photo)
