    I am planning to travel to Rijeka from Venice in July.

    I was wondering if you can give me some information about getting to Rijeka from Venice preferably by ferry if possible.

    Hi Olga – unfortunately, there is no ferry line from Venice to Rijeka.

    You can use ferry to some places in Istria ( Porec, Pula, Rovinj, Umag..)

    In September, I’m thinking of going on my own to Venice from Rijeka for the day.
    For buses, it seems I have plenty of options but no options for the ferry trip.
    I was considering traveling there by ferry…any reason to use one or the other?

    Rijeka to Venice will take at least 3 hours by car or by bus. If you start early, you can be in Venice by 10 am and have several hours to explore the town before getting back to Rijeka for another 3 hrs ride. See this map:

    If you want to include a ferry ride, my suggestion is to get to Venice by bus from Rijeka (above map) in the early morning, spend some time there and get on a ferry in the afternoon (about 17:00) back to Istria, Rovinj, or Pula https://www.croatiaferries.com/venice-pula-ferry.htm to catch a bus to Rijeka from there. You will be in Pula by ferry around 20:30. Pula to Rijeka’s latest departure is at 21:30 arriving in Rijeka at 22:55.
