I don’t seem to be able to book a foot passenger place on the 9608 route from Split to Hvar town.

I see that this route has a ferry that departs Split at 17.00 and also Route 9604 that departs Split at 15.00 but I do not seem to be able to book these ferries via the jadrolinija website.

I wish to travel 31st July one way.

Please can someone tell me how to do this?

    Thanks

I’ll need to take a ferry from Split to Hvar (depending on arrival time to Port Hvar or Port Stari Grad). I’m travelling by foot, no car. Do I need to book a ticket in advance or can I just buy one on arrival at the port of Split?

My flight will land at Split Airport at 14.35 on Friday 28th June. With the possibility of a delay it’s difficult to book a fix ferry in advance, hence my question.

    Many thanks

As this is a huge ferry for departures to Stari Grad, there is always a place for foot passengers.

For Hvar port, as it is limited numbers, it is advisable to book in advance.

So, yes, you can just buy on arrival at the port of Split as you are not sure exactly when you will be ready to travel as your flight is due in the afternoon and it takes time to reach the port.

Here is a screenshot of the booking panel for afternoon crossings to Stari Grad. You will most likely get that 17:00 ferry to Stari Grad.

Once you arrive in the port you can either buy your tickets on the spot or still do it online.

The other option is to check if any of the foot passenger ferries have availability, let’s say Jadrolinija’s, has two crossings that may suit you:

check also other ferry companies, but as it is last minute, you can not rely on these options, still it’s worth a try…
