My question is about mopeds on ferries in Croatia – Can you take mopeds on passenger ferries
I am wondering if we are allowed on the ferry from

    • Bol to Hvar
    • Hvar to Makarska

with a moped in June and if so how much it would cost?

    Thanks
    Eddie

To the best of my knowledge, mopeds are not allowed on foot passenger ferries. Bicycles are sometimes allowed, subject to available space, but mopeds are not.

The best option is to choose ferry crossings that also allow cars and other vehicles. See the below map, it shows car ferries that you need to use:

    • Supetar – Split,
    • Split – Stari Grad,
    • Makarska – Sumartin

This involves a lot of driving…

The alternative is to rent a moped locally and completely avoid crossings by moped.

No, Eddie, mopeds are not allowed, however, I guess it is also about the size of the moped.
I suggest you to get in touch with a specific ferry company and check with them if would they allow your type of moped, perhaps as a cargo if packed in a large bag, as a bike bag, or similar packaging.
As you are traveling in June, which is a pretty busy month, that may not be possible at all.
At the end of the day, the decision of what is allowed is left to the crew and captain of the boat.

Obviously, if your moped is a large one, that will not be allowed. However, there are small mopeds that look similar to an electric bicycle.

Also, I’m not sure what exactly you mean by “moped”;  If you mean “scooter” or “motorbike”, then that is not allowed.

Here is a video that discusses the difference:

Also, have a look at this page that explains what exactly is a moped: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moped and what therm “moped” means in different countries around the world.
