We wish to travel from Dubrovnik to Bari at the end of September with our Border Collie, responses to the questions below about travelling with a dog state they are not allowed in cabins.  How does one travel with a dog for 10 hours if this is the case, are there kennels on board or could he stay in our motorhome when sailing and if so would we have access so we could check on him etc?

    Thanks

We are planning on taking the ferry from Dubrovnik to Bari this summer.

As we will be traveling by car and with our dog, I was wondering, what kind of documents the dog needs to board the ferry.

We currently live in Switzerland and the dog has a European pet passport, a microchip, and is vaccinated against rabies.

Could you inform me, whether or not the dog would need any further documentation for the journey?

Moreover, what would be the costs for the dog to travel on the ferry?

I just called Jadrolinija’s office in Dubrovnik.

    (Address: Obala Stjepana Radića 40, 20000, Dubrovnik; Phone: +385 20 418 000)

They run a ferry from Dubrovnik to Bari.

I was told that no additional documents for dogs are required from Jadrolinija, as the ferry company itself.

The ticket price for a dog is 6 euros.

They also told me that the dog is not allowed to stay in the car during the journey, so you have to keep her/him with you all the time.

    I hope this helps.
