I am searching for a ferry from Zadar to Hvar but I can’t find any similar or available route online.

I checked Stari Grad, Jelsa and Hvar town but could not find anything.

Is there a small local ferry company that does this ferry route?

From Zadar airport: My plan is to fly to Zadar airport in mid-June, stay in Zadar for a few days, and then go to visit Hvar island.

I don’t plan to get a car, so a passenger ferry or catamaran should be fine for me.

    Thanks!

You are right Julian, there is no direct ferry that connects Zadar and Hvar island https://www.croatiaferries.com/zadar-ferry-port.htm and to the best of my knowledge, there are no small ferry companies that run this route.

Your options are to get from Zadar to Split the way it suites you (you may take a bus or even private transfer/Uber) and from Split to take the ferry to Hvar island – here are all available options for Hvar island ferries: https://www.croatiaferries.com/hvar-island-ferries.htm and catamaran ferries to Hvar Town: https://www.croatiaferries.com/hvar-ferry-port.htm

If you can, make sure you get up early and get early morning bus from Zadar to get to Split sometime before 10 am if possible. You will have much more options for crossing to Hvar than in the afternoon or evening.

Thank you. So when is the last ferry to Hvar island from Split? And how long the bus takes from Zadar to Split?

The last ferry to Hvar island is at 20:30 and it takes you to Stari Grad ferry port, so if you intend to go to Hvar Town from there you have to take a bus or taxi. This is for travel in June. In July and August, there is usually one ferry very late at night, at 01:30 also to Stari Grad.
That’s why is much better to leave Zadar early if you can and get on a catamaran to Hvar town – check schedules here: https://www.croatiaferries.com/split-hvar-ferry.htm

Bus from Zadar to Split takes between 2 and 3 hours, depending on the route, so make sure you take the shortest route 😉
